We are back with the website after a couple of months of absence! However, the KK-- squad has gone under many changes. The following post will be the highlights of what has happened from March until December and is by no means complete.

Before we get started, the KK--Squad wishes that you had a Merry Christmas and you will have a better New Year!

The website and forum modification is now being done by yours truly, King6. You may notice a difference in the appearance between mine and Red's but we are both excited to updating the website as well as the forums.

KK-- Expands into Lord of the Rings Online!

Following the steps of KK--RedGryphoN (a.k.a RedGryffon the Guardian), a few members of the DF:LW game have expanded into the massive world of Middle Earth. Since KK-- cannot be used in that game for name purposes (non-fantasy name!), we have adapted the KK-- concept into V.M.T - Valdius Medius Terra.

KK Squad Re-organized!!!!

Over the last twelve months there have been some changes going on in the KK Squad. Firstly, a new honorary council consisting of previous CO's and long standing members of the squad has been created.

So the privileged members of the new honorary council are:-

KK-Sabu KK--Stoofer KK-RedGryphon KK-Phooey

Well done chaps, enjoy your new position!

Secondly, KK-RedGryphon has decided, due to work commitments, to stand down as CO of the KK squad and pass the mantle on. Red is a much respected member of our squad and was a popular choice as CO and we all hope that his work commitments don't stop him from playing the games that he loves...DFLW.

So the position of CO has been offered to, and accepted by, KK--Mangler!!

Finally, a vacancy has appeared on the KK-Council and voted overwhelmingly into this  position is KK-Subsonic - a popular choice amongst the troops for sure!

So, the new structure looks as follows:-

has earned that last gold star and only gone and made 5 STAR GOA feck me approximately 6 MONTHS of lets be honest living in the game he has managed to beat the KK record previously held by KK--SaBU and got the fastest time to GOA. On another positive note it is also confirmed that he has managed to stay married as well during this time even with a very demanding new mistress to satisfy.

Well played mate you are our 10th GOA, now get out of that freaking zone and come play.........

I am delighted to announce that JANUARYS winner was a well deserved KK--Bananaman who is the first player to win the POTM for the second time, congratulations there really could be only one winner last month

SCRIM NEWS

We took on our allies S2K yet again, this time in team death match, a game type that neither squad really play so it was to be a great event. We had to learn the maps and set out to have a go at them. First map was Rumble Own, second was Forrest Rangers and the last one was Valley of the Pharaohs. The first map was a great battle as both sides really wanted to win this first map, luckily for KK it was a win for us. Second map we changed the team members a bit to actually bring in some gunners !! and this was real cat and mouse stuff, but in the end KK won that map too. On the last map we brought in a few players new to scrims and it was a blast but even with one player less for this one, S2K won it well!!

Overall score a win for KK 2-1

On these occasions we do recognise the player who contributed most to the scrims we play and I am delighted to announce that for this scrim a well deserved KK--Subsonic was awarded PLAYER OF THE SCRIM and bagged himself a nice shiny !!.......

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS

Finally we had a KK vs KK TKOTH fest which pitched two balanced teams against each other. As I have power of the pen I am calling this one a DRAW as poor host Washy got himself stuck in EE so could not lose the map or the server would be lost.......

I reckon a rematch is definitely on the cards........

Well this day can not go un-noticed or un-celebrated.

4 YEARS AGO

HK PhOoEy, SaBU and Lee got together and started the KK Squad, never I am sure imagining that it would last, let alone four years and then grow to the size of 29 Soldiers !!

The squad has slowly grown and slowly earned the respect of the DFLW community and last year was "awarded" the Poe SQUAD OF THE YEAR, no mean feat from such a humble beginning.

We know we are never going to be the best most talented bunch of players but we never set out to be. We are primarily a fun squad and shall continue to be so.

We shall continue to "Smile and Wave Boys, Smile and Wave"

Looking forward to our 5th anniversary already.........

Another fantastic result for KK--Featherman who has made very short work of the next promotion and reached  3 STAR OR LIEUTENANT GENERAL!, Well done Simon, soon to be four stars me thinks.

We have not finished there oh no, next we have a very quickly improving player and a truly deserved promotion has now been pinned on KK--Mangler for making 2 STAR OR MAJOR GENERAL keep it going because you are making all the right moves for the next promotion

We took on our allies S2K again, this time in attack and defend and boy oh boy was it a tough scrim. We managed to win the first two maps but on the longer distance gunning map they managed to beat us. However we were delighted to record a 2-1 win and it is fair to say it was one of the best team performances we have ever had, everyone deserved a medal because of the way we pulled together with great communication and effort.

We do however now recognise the player who contributed most to the scrims we play and I am delighted to announce that for this scrim a well deserved KK--ReDGryphoN (I know it was me but heh I cant help that !!!!!!) was awarded PLAYER OF THE SCRIM and bagged himself another shiny..........

Finally an even more over hyped OLDS vs NEWS TKOTH competition has been completed and this time the OLDS won it 3-0 ! Yet again a fantastic night and the OLDS even managed to get a picture of themselves during the last map deep in combat with the enemy.

WOW is all I can say, some of you have LIVED in the goddamn game !!! For all old enough it's been all "Generals and Majors" (name that band come on oldies) Anyways.........

To kick us off, congratulations go to KK--Bananaman AGAIN, since my last post he has sped though colonelship and briefly had a spell as a 1 star General but has already reached 2 STAR OR MAJOR GENERAL up four rank levels in a very short space of time. A total LW  addict and another one who is destined to pip Washy to GOA !!!i

Whilst not playing 24/7 like some, we have great news that KK--Featherman has also been promoted to 2 STAR OR MAJOR GENERAL!, keep it up Simon, you are going up up up.

Not long in the KK Squad and what do you know, KK--Chef joins the same two soldiers above and deservedly gains his status to 2 STAR OR MAJOR GENERAL a fantastic achievement, I am confident Josh is going up up up....watch this player !!!

We have not finished yet, oh no. Next up we have more news of a GENERAL (Ho Hum) nature, big congratulations to two guys breaking into Generalship WOOT WOOT

Firstly we congratulate KK--Mangler for making  1 STAR OR BRIGADIER GENERAL and joining him is KK--Spellbinder for also making  1 STAR OR BRIGADIER GENERAL, many congratulations to you both.

Nothing to report here but we do have a scrim against S2K with Stat CTF maps this coming weekend so wish us well for that !! We have had offers from the new Ku squad and Mickey's newest eS squad so we should have more to report soon.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS

Our allies eF squad have had quite a few members leave them to start other squads so we hope all is OK for them and they continue to stay in LW, keep at it guys !!!

We have new Teamspeak server so pay attention and read in the forum for the new addy and password.

Remember if you want any training from the old skool nubs then post away in the forum we will do our best to help you. Also don't forget the "The way it is" section which is already full of hints and tips and some map specific info.

Finally our newer nubs seem to think they an give us old skool nubs a spanking so KK--Washy has offered us out on Friday November 17th for a TKOTH fest. I will report the result of this carnage next time !!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAAH, bring it boys.....

OK OK apologies for my tardiness in updating but all I can say is I blame Work and that Mrs ReD is weeks away from giving birth to our 2nd son/daughter, neways that my excuses out the way, onwards onwards, plenty to report !!

Some new news in that we are now awarding a Player of the Month for the KK player who (in the opinion of all the other KK players) is the most deserving active squad member. 

First winner for AUGUST was KK--Spellbinder a clear and deserving winner, wtg buddy.

Player of the month for SEPTEMBER was awarded to KK--Featherman  who stomped on the opposition and unlike the labour party, had the backing of most of his squad !!

A busy time for scrims for a change and hopefully more to come.

First we were challenged to a friendly STOCK flag scrim vs our allies eF, I'd like to say it was close !! but we had a load of fun, well played eF, we went down 2-0

Better news from a friendly scrim with our other allies S2K, this time a STAT TKOTH with the good news to report of a 2-1 win for KK !! Very well fought on both sides, thx S2K, awesome.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS

Some sad news to report with our 3rd ally Death Before Dishonour (DBD) squad deciding to call it a day, it is fair to say that KK and DBD had some of the very best of LW times esp in TKOTH, you will all be sorely missed, hope to see you in other teams or solo but still in LW. In particular we wish Thunder (Donna) well and hope all turns out well especially with the real life issues!. Come visit us on TS anytime babe.

MEGA congratulations go to KK--King6 for making FOUR STAR OR GENERAL, a superb achievement, we just know ya gonna be GOA in no time now school is out for Summer !

Next up we have gone COLONEL MAD with both KK--Slyder and KK--Spellbinder making this excellent step up, a big congratulations to you both now GENERALSHIP really is one step away, go for it guys !!!!!

Finally let's put them together for our scrim players who put together a mighty fine performance to beat Unleashed and his Ds squad in TKOTH, wtg team, great teamwork and efforts all round. (Check out the nice colour coding left !!)

Congratulations to KK--SabU for for making his 8000th med save  and KK--ReDGryphoN for making his 5000th med save. What a pair of nurses !

Not content to make the news once this month, KK--Spellbinder does indeed make that leap to MAJOR!!!, way to go buddy, I am getting those LTC braids ready !

Last but not least, late recognition that KK--Featherman has been promoted to CAPTAIN!, a fantastic start for such a new KK soldier. Keep it up !
